HOW TO APPLY

Below you will find a preliminary enquiry form and accompanying guidance notes ready for download. These are in PDF format, if you do not have the Acrobat Reader details of how to download this free software are provided. To open the documents click on them with your left mouse button, and to save on any location within your PC click the right mouse button.

PLEASE NOTE: Applications are currently only being accepted from families in the Greater London area, including the boundaries of surrounding counties, and from the Midlands. If you live outside of these areas, you may call and register your interest, as we seek to operate in the North West of England in the future. We will get in touch with you when we are ready to accept a full application from you if you live in these areas, but please do get in touch as their is a dire need for foster carers. 

APPEAL FOR TEENAGE BOYS CARERS: We urgently need carers in London and Midlands/East Midlands that can care for teenage boys aged between 12-16 years old. People often think that such boys are very troublesome to look after - but from our experience these boys quickly become a settled part of the family. Once you have downloaded the enquiry form, you should print it and complete it before posting or faxing it to our offices as soon as possible. This will commence the application process, and will be your first step towards becoming a foster carer.

If you are unable to print these documents, you can call us, email us, send us a fax or write to us with your full contact details, and we will send an application pack out to you.

If the initial checks are satisfactory, we will…

• invite you to an information day where you can meet other potential foster carers and learn more about the different schemes which we operate;
• visit you at home to talk about fostering with all your family;
• need to follow up references from your previous employers and check details with your GP, the Police and the Department of Health - for your peace of mind and ours;
• invite you to training sessions to prepare you for becoming a foster carer and to develop your skills;
• ensure there’s support for you when you need it once you are a carer;
• try to carefully match foster carers with children - though you always have the right to say no.
